Configuring presence on a Yealink device required the use of the DSS keys using BLF.

  1. Configure your extension on the phone. make a note of which account you are using (eg: Account 1 configured to extension 101)
  2. Navigate to DSS.
  3. Configure the other keys on the phone to recognise the presence of other extensions.
    1. Type = BLF
    2. Value = Extension number of the extension you want to see the status of (eg: 102)
    3. Label = Extension name (eg: Extension 102)
    4. Line = This must be the Active line your phone is configured to (eg: Line 1). The Yealink device will use the PBX credentials in this line to recognise other extensions, so make sure this is correct.
    5. Extension = match to Value (Extension number of the extension you want to see status)

This is a configuration from an account with multiple extensions and yealink phones, all configured with presence.

The design of the phone interface is done to remain the same across all devices, and depending on the device/extension you are using, a different line will be your "active" line.

For example, if configuring extension 6, this would be Account 6 in the yealink device for this extension.

If configuring presence on this device, you must change all DSS entries for the "Line" field to be Line 6 as well, or this will not recognise.
